‘Medicare and Social Security for $500, Alex!’
CHICAGO, IL — Susana Mendoza for Mayor invited voters to play today’s “Daley Trouble” tile: Medicare and Social Security for $500 — When he was the White House chief of staff, he proposed cutting Social Security and raising the eligibility age for Medicare.
Bill Daley has repeatedly endorsed stripping Medicare and Social Security from Chicago’s seniors, advocating to raise the eligibility age for Medicare and slash Social Security. He then furthered his attacks on the social safety net by endorsing Bruce Rauner and his crisis-driven agenda, which decimated social service agencies and left children, veterans, and seniors without the essential services they need to survive.
“Bill Daley has put seniors in jeopardy with his attacks on Social Security, Medicare, and Illinois’ social service agencies,” Susana Mendoza for Mayor press secretary Christian Slater said. “With a record filled with attack after attack on our social safety net, Bill Daley has made it clear he’ll do whatever it takes to force his harmful agenda on Chicago’s working families and seniors, no matter the cost.”
